PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable high-frequency receiver capable of satisfactorily receiving a television broadcast signal, even in an environment where a television broadcast signal level is low.;SOLUTION: The receiver has, a changeover switch 22 in which its one input is connected to the output of the amplifier 2 and a common terminal 22c is connected to an input of the amplifier 24 between an amplifier 2 and an amplifier 24; a high-frequency signal input terminal 21 connected to the other input of the this changeover switch 22; and a control signal terminal 36 connected to the changeover switch 22 and to the input 35c of a control unit 35, and receiving a switching signal for switching the changeover switch 22. If a signal indicating that the changeover switch 22 has switched to the terminal 21 side and a signal not less than a predetermined value is inputted from a power detector 34, the control unit 35 turns off the amplifier 24. Thus, the television broadcast signal can be satisfactorily received, even in the environment where a television broadcast signal level is low.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
