PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroformylation catalyst having a dendrimer type phosphine or phosphite ligand, a hydroformylation method using it and a dendrimer type novel phosphine compound useful as a catalyst and a ligand of the catalyst or a phosphite compound thereof.;SOLUTION: In the hydroformylation catalyst comprising rhodium complex, the dendrimer type phosphine or phosphite in which an aryl moiety of the mono-dentate or di-dentate ligand type arylphosphine or phosphite is grown to the dendrimer form is used as the ligand.
