PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a traffic sign coating material for a water-draining pavement, capable of preventing the coating material from penetrating into a road surface and the abrasion resistance and the adhering force from decreasing, and also simply being installed, and to provide a method for coating the traffic sign.;SOLUTION: The coating material is obtained by blending a thixotropic property-imparting agent to a hot-melting type traffic sign coating material. Thereby, a network structure by secondary bonds is formed in the coating material, but on melting the traffic sign coating material for installation and applying shearing force for coating, the network structure is collapsed and the coating material is easily applied, and after coating, the network structure recovers and prevents the coating material from penetrating into the gaps of the water-draining pavement caused by the flow of the traffic sign coating material in a molten or softened state, and on a reinstallation, the road surface is not so much required to be shaved off. Also, this coating material is blended with an adhesive synthetic resin. Thereby, the adhesion with the road surface is improved, and it is possible to reduce the degree of abrasion or peeling off of the traffic sign coating material after the installation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
