PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine structural member made of an Al alloy casting in which weight reduction is realized and countermeasures for improving the strength of the material are taken in a weight reducing region.;SOLUTION: The machine structural member 11, in which the weight reduction is realized, has a hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy composition. It is casted by using a casting material in which a liquid phase and a solid phase coexist. It is provided with a main region AM and the weight reducing region AL which is integrated with the main region AM and in which volume reduction is realized.
