PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply the bevel gear cutting machine and corresponding method that can chamfer and/or deburr the edge of a tooth of the very extensive model bevel gear using an uncomplicated device.;SOLUTION: The bevel gear cutting machine can work together with a workpiece spindle to bear the bevel gear in the same axis, a carriage to bear a cutter head having a large number of bar blades, and a programmable controller and has a large number of numerically controllable axes including a workpiece spindle axis for the workpiece spindle and a tool spindle axis for the cutter head. In addition, the numerically controllable axes are so positioned that the workpiece spindle and the bevel gear tilt to the cutter head by adjusting at least one of the control axes such that the bar blades plunge into intermediate spaces of neighboring teeth one after another to chamfer or deburr the edges while each of the workpiece spindle and the cutter head simultaneously rotates around the workpiece spindle axis and the tool spindle axis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
