PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master information carrier capable of performing batch surface transfer to a magnetic recording medium having steep magnetization transition and a large coercive force, its manufacturing method, a method for recording a master information signal on the magnetic recording medium, its manufacturing method, and a magnetic recording/reproducing devide using these.;SOLUTION: In a state where a master information carrier 1 having an information signal arrangement pattern constituted of a highly magnetic light-shielding thin film 3 on a translucent nonmagnetic substrate 2 and a magnetic recording medium from which a direct current is removed beforehand are arranged to face each other, an illumination light 4 is irradiated on them, and a DC bias magnetic field 5 having a polarity reverse to the DC removed magnetic field is impressed, thereby transferring and recording a magnetization pattern corresponding to an information signal arrangement to a magnetic recording layer 30. Thus, even when the coercive force of the magnetic recording layer 30 is large, and the transferred and recorded magnetic field from the ferromagnetic thin film 3 runs short, the coercive force drops in a light irradiation part due to heating, and thus transferring and recording are carried out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
