PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actually measure a moisture content at the time of determination of component data, without requiring a separate moisture sensor by providing an analyzer operated so as to determine the moisture component in air supplied in order to form a breathing gas mixture, during a calibration period.;SOLUTION: In a mechanical breathing assistor, the air from a first inlet 4 and the oxygen gas from a second inlet 6 are mixed while controlled quantitatively in a mixing part where the air from the first inlet 4 connectable to an air source and the oxygen gas from the second inlet, connectable to an oxygen source communicate with each other to form a breathing gas. The moisture content value of the air from the air source is accessed by an acoustical analyzer 16 constituted so as to be operated during measuring procedure to form acoustic velocity related information for acoustic energy after the interaction with the breaching gas and the oxygen content value is determined from the information.
