PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a COSB2/SBabsorbing method of absorbing COSB2/SBfrom by-product gas generated in iron works using waste heat of circulating refrigerant in a stave cooler in an absorbing liquid without discharging COSB2/SB. PSOLUTION: In this COSB2/SBabsorbing method, by-product gas generated in iron works is introduced into an absorbing tower 2, and brought into contact with absorbing liquid supplied to the absorbing tower 2 and regenerated in a regeneration tower 3 to absorb COSB2/SBin the by-product gas in the absorbing liquid, and the COSB2/SBabsorbing liquid absorbing COSB2/SBin the absorbing tower 2 is heated in the regenerating tower 3 to be separated into the COSB2/SBand the absorbing liquid. The waste heat possessed by the circulating refrigerant taken from the stave cooler 5 of a blast furnace 1 is taken as a heat source to heat the absorbed liquid taken from the regenerating tower 3 by heat exchange. The heated absorbed liquid is returned to the regenerating tower 3 and circulated and simultaneously the COSB2/SBabsorbed liquid is separated into COSB2/SBand the absorbing liquid to regenerate the absorbing liquid. Some of the regenerated absorbing liquid is supplied to the absorbing tower 2, and the cooled circulated refrigerant cooled by heat exchange is again used as a refrigerant of the stave cooler 5.
