PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a recombinant protein utilizing transgenic silkworm.;SOLUTION: The method for producing a recombinant protein comprises the following process: Transgenic silkworm having the two kinds of defensin gene of coconut rhinoceros beetle, Oryctes rhinoceros, with UAS(upstream activation sequence) as the target sequence of GAL4 as a promoter and a fibroin L-chain-derived signal sequence and defensin-derived signal sequence is created. The transgenic silkworm is crossed with a line transferred with GAL4 gene having the promoter of fibroin L-chain gene and created by a similar method, and the progeny thereof is examined. As a result, it is confirmed that the defensin of coconut rhinoceros beetle, Oryctes rhinoceros, is present in cocoons produced by a transgenic silkworm having a fibroin L-chain promoter and GAL4 gene and the defensin gene derived from coconut rhinoceros beetle, Oryctes rhinoceros.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
