PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water culture system improving working environment through fundamentally reviewing a conventional water culture system for leaf vegetables and efficiently producing small green onions or the like. PSOLUTION: A water culture method for leaf vegetables comprises aligning and holding a plurality of grooved cultivation supplementary containers 10 in a raising seedling container 20, filling a medium M therein followed by sowing, or filling the medium M in the raising seedling container 20 and placing the cultivation supplementary containers 10 on the medium followed by sowing, covering the surface with a medium and watering, placing with the raising seedling container 20 after germination on the water surface of a raising seedling pool followed by raising seedlings, moving the cultivation supplementary containers 10 after raising seedling to the supplementary container holding recessed parts 32 of a cultivation container 30, and placing with the cultivation container 30 on the water surface of a fix planting pool followed by growing seedlings. The water culture method enables greatly shortening working hours and at the same time, increasing harvest more than a conventional method, and also consistently cultivating from sowing to growing only by the cultivation container 30 through filling the direct medium M using the supplementary container holding recessed part 32 of the cultivation container 30 as a medium filling recessed part 33.
