PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing ultraviolet-absorbing glass in which only light absorption in a visible light region is reduced.;SOLUTION: A melt has following composition comprising, by weight, 55-79% SiO2, 3-25% B2O3, 0-10% Al2O3, 0-10% Li2O, 0-10% Na2O, 0-10% K2O, 0-2% MgO, 0-3% CaO, 0-3 SrO, 0-3% BaO, 0-3% ZnO, 0-3% ZrO2, 0-1% CeO2, 0-1% Fe2O3, 0-3% WO3, 0-3% Bi2O3, and 0-3% MoO3, with a proviso that the total amount of Li2O, Na2O, and K2O is 0.5-16%, and the total amount of MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO and ZnO is 0-10%, and the melt composition is characterized by additionally including 0.1-10% TiO2 and 0.01-10% As2O3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
