COMBINATION THERAPY COMPRISING ATORVASTATINE AND ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENT

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical combination of atorvastatine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and an antihypertensive agent, a kit containing such the combination, and a method for using such the combination to treat subjects suffering from angina pectoris, atherosclerosis or combined hypertension and hyperlipidemia or to treat subjects presenting symptoms of cardiac risk, including humans. PSOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition comprises an amount of atorvastatine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an amount of an antihypertensive agent, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent (provided that the above antihypertensive agent is not amlodipine). Particularly, the antihypertensive agent is a calcium channel blocker such as normal felodipine and nifedipine; an A-2 antagonist such as losartan and irbesartan; a diuretic such as amiloride; an AEC (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor such as benazepril and captopril; or an -adrenergic receptor blocker such as doxazosin and prazosin.
