PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable screening method for providing methods and pharmaceuticals for treating erectile dysfunction, identifying new compounds useful for treating the erectile dysfunction and evaluating whether the compounds are effective in the treatment of such conditions. PSOLUTION: A kit for identifying a pharmaceutically active compound for treating conditions caused by altered expression of an insulin receptor includes following (a) and (b); (a) a means for in-vitro analysis of the amount of the Ex11SP+/SP-splice variant and/or the Ex11SP-/SP-splice variant of the insulin receptor in a sample derived from the mammal administered with a latent pharmaceutically active compound, and (b) an instruction instructing to select a compound which leads to an increase of the amount of the Ex11SP+/SP-splice variant and/or a decrease of the amount of the Ex11SP-/SP-variant of the insulin receptor.
