PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting a recovered rubber into a high molecular weight rubber which permits easy taking, from the recovered rubber, of a high molecular weight rubber which exhibits rubber elasticity and can be reused as it is as a rubber raw material (including a manufacturing method of a high molecular weight rubber), a high molecular weight rubber and a vulcanized rubber composition. PSOLUTION: The method for converting the recovered rubber into a high molecular weight rubber comprises subjecting the recovered rubber having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000 recovered from a rubber molded article to a heat treatment (I) in an inert gas atmosphere. The high molecular weight rubber is obtained by the method. The vulcanized rubber composition comprises a vulcanized rubber obtained by vulcanizing the high molecular weight rubber.
