PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damages to coating body, due to pecking of birds by having polymer insulators carry a bird rejectant and maintain a bird-rejecting effect, at least during the construction period of power transmission equipment and blocking the birds from pecking the polymer insulators.;SOLUTION: The pest-bird preventing polymer insulator comprises an insulator body made by coating an outer periphery of a core body 11 of a reinforced plastic with rubber coating bodies, and a pair of gripping fittings 13 firmly insertion-coupled with each end part of the body, of which the coating body 12 is made to carry a bird rejectant, such as capsaicin.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
