PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy creation of a correction expression for correcting the periodic errors of a reduction mechanism which uses a harmonic drive, and to enable automation.;SOLUTION: As a correction expression for a rotation angle θ'=θ+Δθ, Δθ=Asin(C1 θ+θa)+Bsin(C2 θ+θb)+θc is set; and by Fourier-expanding this expression, this is transformed into Δθ=(a0/2)+a1cos(C1θ)+a2cos(C2θ)+b1sin(C1θ)+b2sin(C2θ). Since coefficients of a0, a1, a2, b1 , b2 need to be obtained for each apparatus, they are calculated by fitting by the least-squares method, based on the measured results of a plurality of emission line spectra. In this case, since the initial values can be determined properly, trial-and-error work by an operator is not needed, and calculation thereof can be automated. The correction expression thus determined is stored into a correction expression storing section 64 and is utilized for the correction of a rotation angle, at actual measurement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
