PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect damages generated in a structural composite material, while avoiding lowering in strength.;SOLUTION: This damage detection system 10 for the structural composite material is provided with an oscillation device 20 provided with a sheet body 22, a plurality of piezoelectric elements 21 held under the condition dotted in the sheet body 22, and wires 23 for the piezoelectric elements 21 provided in the sheet body 22, an optical fiber sensor 30, having a grating part 33 for reflecting a prescribed wavelength of light in a core part 32, a light source for emitting light onto the core part 32, and a characteristics detecting means 42 for detecting the characteristics of the light reflected from the grating part 33.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
