PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface machining roll for a noble metal product, and a surface machining device enabling any worker to work easily, safely and efficiently, obtaining stable machining quality, low in product cost, facilitating replacement and harmless to environment in disposal.;SOLUTION: This surface machining roll 1 is provided with: a core part 3; a roll body 9 with a comparatively large outer diameter, mounted to the outer peripheral surface of the core part 3 and mainly composed of polyether-based urethane foam sponge; a cutting abrasive belt 17 attached to the outer peripheral surface of the roll body 9; and roll covers 27 attached to both side faces of the roll body 9. The surface machining device 31 is provided with: a motor M; a spindle S mounted to a rotary shaft of the motor M; the surface machining roll 1 mounted to the spindle S; a recovery hood 71 covering the periphery excluding the front face of the surface machining roll 1; and a suction device 77 connected to the recovery hood 71.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
