PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recognizing a color bar in a double-side color printed article which facilitates a printing quality control work by an operator, a color printing quality control system, and a color printing quality evaluating apparatus.;SOLUTION: The color bars CB1 and CB2 in the printed article Q in which the first and second color bars CB1 and CB2 are printed by a double-side color printing machine 100, are scanned to detect an arranging condition of a patch PA for controlling in the color bars CB1 and CB2, and based on the arranging condition of the patch for controlling detected, it is recognized whether the color bars CB1 and CB2 are printed on the surface of the printed article Q or on the back surface. By comparing the arranging condition of the patch PA detected with an arranging condition of the patch PA stored in advance, when they coincides with each other, information on the printing quality of the patch PA evaluated is transmitted to the printing machine 100 in an order of scanning in the scanning direction X1 and X2.
