PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an absorbing capacity of energy by exhibiting an energy absorbing effect even in various vibrations, by preventing displacement from becoming excessive between an existing building and an extension part, while reducing a reinforcement of the existing building.;SOLUTION: An upper structure 2 has in a top position an energy absorbing part 3 composed of an energy absorbing layer 3a and a weight body 3b arranged in the upper part of the energy absorbing layer 3a, and is extended in the upper part of an existing lower structure 1. As a result, the energy absorbing part 3 compensates for the strength of the lower structure 1 by the TMD effect of the energy absorbing part 3 arranged in the top position of the upper structure 2, to thereby reduce the reinforcement of the lower structure 1 when extending the upper structure 2. Displacement is reduced between the lower structure 1 and the upper structure 2, to thereby dispense with a special structure to a constitution extending over upper-lower parts of the whole building. The energy absorbing effect can be exhibited even in various vibrations by the energy absorbing part 3, and energy absorbing performance can also be maintained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
