PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a spherical aberration compensation lens which is thin in thickness and can form a beam spot less in aberration on an optical recording medium.;SOLUTION: The lens 1 is fixed inside a lens holder 2. A coil 3 is wound and attached to the lens holder 2 so as to include an optical axis o of the lens 1. The lens holder 2 is supported by one ends of leaf springs 4a and 4b. The leaf springs 4a and 4b each has an inside hollow structure whose inside is removed. A permanent magnet 6a is disposed on the side opposite to the leaf springs 4a and 4b of the lens holder 2 and a permanent magnet 6b is disposed in the inside hollow part. Thus permanent magnets 6a and 6b sandwich the lens holder 2 from the longitudinal direction (direction Y)of the leaf springs 6a and 6b.
