PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient synthetic method for a phenylazomethine dendrimer useful in the applications to emission, catalytic functions and so forth.;SOLUTION: The synthetic method for the phenylazomethine dendrimer expressed by formula (1) ( wherein, R1 is an organic group having an aromatic ring; R2 is a phenyl group which may have a substituent; (m) is an integer of more than 1; and (n) is an integer of 0 or more than 1), comprises the steps of a condensation reaction of a dendron and a diaminodiphenylmethane, a forming reaction of a dendron having the number of generation changed by the succeeding oxidation reaction, and subsequently a synthesis of a dendron having a given number of generation, and then a reaction thereof with an amine compound. Thus, this method gives an efficiently and newly synthetic method for a phenylazomethine dendrimer which is expected to have the applications to emission, catalytic function and so forth, and gives a generation-selective, functional-group converting method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
