PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water saving member for a faucet, and a water saving member for a shower, capable of saving water, while discharging water quantity in proportion to a change in water pressure on the faucet body side or the shower hose side, from a water discharge pipe or a shower plate of a shower head. PSOLUTION: This resin water saving member 1 for the faucet is fitted inside an upstream port 3a of the water discharge pipe 3 connected to a faucet body 2; is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape; is fitted inside the upstream port 3a, so that a bottom part 4 is positioned on the downstream side; has on the upstream end, an outward flange 5 locked on an upstream end surface (m) of the upstream port 3a; has an annular projecting part 5 abutting on an inner peripheral surface (n) of the upstream port 3a on the outer periphery E of a barrel 7 in the shape of running along the circumferential direction; communicates an outflow flow passage (i) of the faucet body 2 with a water discharge flow passage (j) of the water discharge pipe 3; reduces a water discharge flow rate of the water discharge flow passage (j) more than an outflow flow rate of the outflow flow passage (i); and has in the bottom part 4, a plurality of communicating holes 8 for changing the water discharge flow rate in proportion to a change in the water pressure on the outflow flow passage side.
