PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an important part from being excluded from a photographic image when CinemaScope(R) processing is applied thereto. PSOLUTION: A worker uses a dialog box for protection area setting to set an important area to a desired photographic image as a protection area. There is a case that a picture is switched to a CinemaScope(R) size when combining a plurality of photographic images to create a motion picture video image, in such a case, however, a protection area determined to the photographic image can be included in a segmentation area at all times even during image segmentation related effect processing such as CinemaScope(R) effect processing.
