ENSURING OF MAXIMUM REACTION TIMES IN COMPLICATED OR DISTRIBUTED SAFE AND OR NON-SAFE SYSTEMS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for ensuring maximum reaction times between a safe input signal and a corresponding safe output signal in a data processing system. PSOLUTION: In the data processing system, a user 12 transmits a value 123 to users 11, 13, 14 as shown by an arrow A. Input data and/or output data which are present on the input side of the users 11, 13, 14 incorporated in the system, are read in synchronously during each data cycle and the read input data and/or output data (IN, OUT) are checked in relation to the value 123 (currency parameter) that is based on at least one data cycle and is associated with or can be associated with the read input data and/or output data. An error is identified in response to a defined discrepancy being reached between at least one currency parameter and a defined currency threshold, and a defined function, particularly a safety-oriented function, is triggered in response to identification of the error.
