PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductor with proton conductivity and durability (oxidation resistance) sufficient to use as a solid polymer fuel cell, to provide a joint body of a catalyst electrode and the proton conductor, and to provide a method of manufacturing a fuel cell and the proton conductor. PSOLUTION: The proton conductor is manufactured so that an organic proton conductive polymer, an inorganic solid acid, and an inorganic proton conductive material obtained by condensation of Lewis acid metal alkoxide and a silicon oxide precursor of total 450-20,000 moles to the inorganic solid acid of 100 moles form network structure by mutual penetration of molecular chains of the organic proton conductive polymer and molecular chains of the inorganic proton conductive material.
