PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handwritten input device and authentication method of handwritten input which can improve accuracy and reliability of authentication.;SOLUTION: A handwritten input device 100 of this invention, while being able to write by hand to a pattern face 201, acquires the handwritten script information and transmits it to a personal computer (PC). And this input device is provided with an optical module 104 which acquires positional information of the input device at the pattern face 201, a stroke pressure sensor 103 which detects stroke pressure between the pattern face 201 and the input device, a signal processing part 106 which processes positional information at the time when the stroke pressure between the pattern face 201 and the input device is detected by the stroke pressure sensor 103 as real script information and positional information at the time when the stroke pressure between the pattern face 201 and the input device is not detected by the stroke pressure sensor 103 as empty script information, and a communication control part 111 which transmits script information including real script information and empty script information to the PC.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
