PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic guided vehicle constructed to easily move between two traveling passages without a turntable, a traveling control method thereof, and an automatic conveying system using the automatic guided vehicle.;SOLUTION: This automatic guided vehicle 1 includes: two or more rail traveling wheels 3, 4, 7, 8 traveling on a traveling tail 11; two or more slide traveling wheels 16, 17 sliding in the slide moving direction substantially orthogonal to the traveling rail 11; and an elevating mechanism unit 24 for moving up ad down the slide traveling wheels 16, 17 so that in upward moving, the rail traveling wheels 3, 4, 7, 8 are separated above the floor surface, and in downward moving, the slide traveling wheels 16, 17 are grounded on the floor surface.
