PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for easily recognizing the contents of a TV program being viewable in a portable telephone even when the portable telephone is in a waiting mode.;SOLUTION: When the telephone set is in the waiting mode, the control part 9 allows a TV receiving part 1 and a TS decoding part 2 to intermittently receive the TV program of a TV broadcasting, and a picture display part 3 outputs an informal TV picture indicating the summary of the TV program. Then a user easily acquires the summary of the program being broadcasted at present in the waiting mode.
