PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for nondestructively inspecting the back or buried defect of an object to be inspected, or material characteristics with high sensitivity by an electromagnetic method.;SOLUTION: In the nondestructive inspection method using an electromagnetic method for evaluating the back or buried defect of an object to be inspected, or material characteristics by allowing current to flow to a conductive object to be inspected, the distribution of electric resistivity in the object to be inspected is changed by locally heating the surface of the object to be inspected, electric resistivity on the surface of the object to be inspected is increased as compared with that on the back, thus inducing much current to the back side as compared with a case where the surface is not heated, and improving detection sensitivity to the back or buried defect, or material characteristics.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
