PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transgenic rabbit which can be used for clarifying the pathologies of various diseases caused by human vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or for screening methods for preventing the diseases, methods for treating the diseases, new therapeutic agents for the diseases, and the like.;SOLUTION: A method for making the transgenic rabbit comprises collecting fertilized eggs from the oviduct of a donor rabbit subjected to an excessive ovulation treatment, transducing a human VEGF cDNA-containing DNA structure induced and expressed with a human α1-anti-trypsin promoter into the collected fertilized eggs, transplanting the treated eggs into the oviduct of a pseudopregnancy (pseudoparent) female rabbit, and then selecting a child rabbit having the human VEGF cDNA from the borne child rabbits.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
