PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein, in a horizontal drum type garbage disposer for reducing volume of a lot of garbage by decomposing and fermenting using microorganisms, whole of the very heavy drum containing the lot of garbage and microorganisms is rotated to agitate the garbage and microorganisms, thus making load applied to the drum and a power transmission part very large, and requiring a very strong drum and a power transmitting part.;SOLUTION: In stead of rotating the very heavy drum containing the lot of garbage and microorganisms, a fixed tank 1 containing the garbage and microorganisms and a drum 3 rotating around the tank 1 are provided, the garbage and microorganisms are dropped little by little to the inside of the drum 3 from the lower part of the tank 1. Thereby, the load to the drum 3 and the power transmission part for rotating the drum 3 for agitating the garbage and microorganisms is reduced while circulating them from the lower part to the upper part of the tank 1.
