PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small stirling engine model with a simple configuration which works efficiently by directly utilizing the rectilinear motion of a piston, can be operated by a relatively low temperature heat source, can be inexpensively manufactured, and whose operation cycle can be easily adjusted.;SOLUTION: The free piston stirling engine model is so constituted that: a displacer 11 is formed of a gas permeating material and serves also as a regenerator; the upper part of a piston rod 13 vertically moving as one body with a power piston penetrates a low temperature side cap 5 and extends upward and energized upward by a power piston spring 16; the lower part of the piston rod 13 penetrates the displacer and arranged so as to be collidable with a displacer spring 17. When the piston rod goes down, the displacer spring 17 is flexed and pushes up the displacer 11. By changing the position of the low temperature side cap 5, the phase difference is made adjustable and the spring constant of the power piston spring 16 is made easily adjustable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
