PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring/speech communication system for a building and multiple dwelling housing capable of improving security by ensuring many communication channels with a simple system configuration in which time and effort of wiring are saved.;SOLUTION: Individual intercom terminals 2 provided in a tenant room and respective dwellings are grouped into a plurality of areas in advance, local lobby intercoms 3B and local communication lines 11-15 are provided for each area, and the intercom 3B and the individual intercom terminals corresponding to the area are connected to the lines 11-15. Each of the intercoms 3B is connected to an alarm monitoring apparatus 1 via a control line L2. The apparatus 1 is provided with a speech processing section for receiving a call request from the intercom 3B even when speech is made between a lobby intercom 3A and the terminal 2 via a speech line L1 to permit the intercom 3B to make a call to the terminal 2 not in a call state via the lines 11-15 provided in the area including the intercom 3B.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
