PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element with an antireflection surface having periodical fine ruggedness which is resistant to flawing, is high in productivity, is mild in molding conditions, and can make a layer having the ruggedness thicker, an optical system having the optical element with the antireflection surface and optical equipment equipped with the optical system having the optical element with the antireflection surface. PSOLUTION: The optical element with the antireflection surface has a light transparent organic and inorganic composite material 1 on at least the surface and is so constituted that the surface acts as the antireflection surface consisting of the fine ruggedness 10 having a period below the wavelength of the transmitted light.
