PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanoparticle low symmetric two-dimensional superlattice in a four-fold symmetry tetragonal structure or three-fold symmetry pseudo-honeycomb structure or the like by using a basic ligand protection metal nanoparticles without changing the types of the ligand.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the nanoparticle low symmetric two-dimensional superlattice has the following characteristics. Metal nanoparticles protected by the basic ligand, for example, a benzyl dialkylamine derivative or the like shown by the general formula [1] (in the formula, R represents an alkyl group and n represents a positive integer) are dispersed in an organic solvent. It is treated with an organic acid. The metal nanoparticles obtained by such a treatment is dissolved in water. The self-organization is executed by adding, applying, and drying the aqueous solution on a hydrophilic substrate. Also, the metal nanoparticles are composed by modifying the surface of the metal nanoparticles protected by the basic ligand with the organic acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
