UTILIZING PHASE RETARD INTEGRATION METHOD OF FLOW BIREFRINGENCE TO ANALYSE THE FLOW WITH SYMMETRIC PLANE

The formulas which are suitable to birefringent medium with symmetric plane are derived bymeans of phase retard integration.We have adopted this concept to the axisymmetric problems and deducedsome useful formulas for these cases.As a practical application,the strain rate analysis of flow in adiverging or a converging vessel is illustrated at the end of this paper.
