PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide body which is used as an image guide and has superior flexibility even through the number of pixels in an image to be transmitted is large.;SOLUTION: The external shape of an optical waveguide body 1 is columnar or a line shape having a circular cross section. When the cross section which is parallel to an xy plane is observed, a plurality of regions A has a high refractive index, is surrounded by regions B to D and arranged in a grid shape. The regions A to D are extended along a z axis direction. The refractive index of the region A is larger than the refractive index of each of the regions B and C.
