PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an scroll operation of display data in a window. PSOLUTION: A glide point device with a scroll function 1 is structured in that a scroll direction of the display data on a screen is detected by disposing switches (SWs) 7a, 7b in the sliding direction of a glide point 3 to be made slidable in a lateral side when the SWs 7a, 7b are pushed down against the energizing force of a spring 6 and abutting the point 3 on the SW 7a or the SW 7b. Consequently, a button separated from the point 3 and dedicated for the scroll operation is not required, and operations of pointer movement and window selection and the scroll operation of the display data in the window can be conducted while putting a finger on the point 3.
