PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a high sensitivity measurement and simultaneously obtain an accurate measured value by avoiding a rise of a blank test value originating from a metal included as an impurity and raising the detection limit for measuring the metal in a sample, even if the metal is included as an impurity in the reagent, in the method for measuring the metal in the sample comprising the steps of reacting the metal in the sample with a labeled chelate compound to form a complex and the reagent used for the method. PSOLUTION: A capturing chelate compound is added to the reagent used for the measuring method for measuring the metal in the sample. The capturing chelate compound has a complex producing reaction rate of the metal of the measuring object in the sample with a capturing chelate compound not higher than 50% of a complex producing reaction rate of the metal with the labeled chelate compound at a labeled chelate compound concentration and a capturing chelate compound concentration in the reagent used for measurement.
