PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container recovery box and a container recovery method that can be easily installed at a public recovery location such as a location in front of a convenience store and can efficiently reduce the volume of a container to be disposed or recycled by a simple facility for improving recovery efficiency.;SOLUTION: The container recovery box 1 of the present invention has a charging opening 7 into which a plastic bottle 5 having a check valve cap 28 for inhibiting fluid from flowing in the inside direction of the PET bottle 5 is charged, a casing 3 for accumulating the PET bottle 5 charged from the charging opening 7, a vacuum pump 60a for reducing the pressure inside the casing 3, an opening valve 60c for opening the reduced pressure inside the casing 3 to the atmospheric pressure, and a control circuit 61 that reduces the pressure inside of the casing 3 by controlling the vacuum pump 60a while the PET bottle 5 is stored in the casing 3, and controls the opening valve 60c to open the inside of the casing 3 to the atmospheric pressure when the pressure reaches a predetermined level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
