PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the multi-image composition method and multi-image composition system to synthesize video signals from a plurality of video signal sources to be applicable even to a low transmission frequency band with economy and high efficiency. ;SOLUTION: In the multi-image composition method and multi-image composition system where video signals from video signal sources 1-1-1-n such as a plurality of television cameras are operated asynchronously with each other, an image composition control section 9 controls each section and a video signal selector 2 sequentially selects the video signals from the video signal sources 1-1-1-n, an input signal V.H supervisory section 3 takes vertical and horizontal synchronization to receive the selected signal in unit of frame. A horizontal direction reduction processing section 4 reduces the signal through pixel interleaving or the like in the horizontal direction and the result is written in an image composition memory 6 via a line memory 5.
