PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a facility for producing liquid hydrogen in which liquefaction power can be reduced utilizing the coldness of a material and compression power of material can be reduced at the time of producing liquid hydrogen from liquefied natural gas.;SOLUTION: The facility for producing liquid hydrogen comprises a booster 1 for pressurizing liquefied natural gas, a hydrogen gas generator 10 for generating hydrogen gas using natural gas as a reaction material, a hydrogen liquefier 20 for liquefying hydrogen gas, a heat exchanger 2 for introducing the pressurized liquefied natural gas and the generated hydrogen gas, exchanging heat between them and supplying precooled hydrogen gas to the hydrogen liquefier 20, and an evaporator 4 for gasifying the liquefied natural gas heated through the heat exchanger 2 and supplying at least a part thereof to the hydrogen gas generator 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
