PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper mold operating method of mold casting by means of a horizontally split mold capable of easily conveying and adjusting in an assembly and making compact in size.;SOLUTION: In the upper mold operating method of mold casting manufacturing casting goods by pouring molten metal in a retention furnace into a cavity of horizontally split upper and lower molds in a mold-clamped state, the upper mold operating method provides a mold-clamping process of the mold-opened upper mold by integrally descending together with a piston rod of an upper mold moving cylinder to a vertical direction, a process pouring and cooling molten metal in the cavity of the mold-clamped upper and lower molds, and a mold-opening process of the upper mold by integrally ascending together with the piston rod of the upper mold moving cylinder in the vertical direction on the basis of extending operation of a plurality of the upper mold moving cylinders in the vertical direction while the upper mold is separated from a lower mold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
