PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a circuit becomes complicated and the cost is increased due to the increased number of components because a microcomputer IC and a chroma IC have had to be connected by five signal lines for transmission/reception of an OSD signal or the like. SOLUTION: When the microcomputer IC 16 outputs the OSD signal, control data to control the operation of the chroma IC 13 are superimposed on a synchronizing signal period for an RGB signal forming the OSD signal, the chroma IC 13 receiving the superimposed signal extracts the control data and is in operation on the basis of the control data so as to allow the OSD signal and the control data to be transmitted only through the OSD signal line 20 without the need for providing signal lines for the control data between the microcomputer IC 16 and the chroma IC 13 thereby simplifying the circuit configuration and reducing the cost.
