PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst more excellent in performance of removing organic halogen compounds and suitable for use in the removal of organic halogen compounds in waste gas and to obtain a method for removing organic halogen compounds using the catalyst. ;SOLUTION: This catalyst for the removal of organic halogen compounds contains titanium oxide (TiO2) and vanadium oxide as catalyst components, has pores including a group of pores having the peak of the pore diameter distribution in the range of 0.01-0.05 μm and a group of pores having the peak of the pore diameter distribution in the range of 0.1-0.8 μm and further contains at least one metal oxide selected from the group comprising oxides of Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Sn, Ta, La and Ce as a catalyst component.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
