PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating plants cultivated on soil medium, on artificial culture soil using water-absorbing polymer. PSOLUTION: The method for cultivating plants on the artificial culture soil comprises the steps of; pulling up a foliage plant 2, flowering plant, or flowering trees and shrubs, each cultivated in soil culture medium 1, from the soil culture medium to wash the roots 21 thereof; as for the foliage plant, cutting its roots short after washed; growing the roots in conditioned medium 4, mixed with a small amount of ion exchange resin or additionally mixed with a small amount of water-absorbing polymer, for some days; growing the plant while adding a small amount of the water-absorbing polymer after recognition of newly taken roots; ensuring sufficient growth of the new roots; and cultivating the plant on artificial culture soil 6 comprising the water-absorbing polymer.
