PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inducing sedative activity to a mollusc by dissolving a material inducing the sedative activity, and soaking the mollusc in the resultant solution.;SOLUTION: A material having the sedative activity is dissolved in sea water so as to be in 1-200 mM concentration range, and the sea water containing the material having the sedative activity, in an amount of 0.2-50 times as much as the total body weight of the mollusc is added to the mollusc. The mollusc with the added sea water is packaged with enclosed oxygen by using a film having high gas-barrier property, and the resultant package is preserved in a chilled state (at about 5°C).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
