PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating the personal PAH exposure quantity, from the concentration in urine of a PAH metabolite (PAH mono-hydroxy compound) excreted in urine as an exposure index (bio-marker) of PAHS.;SOLUTION: By noting that PAHS taken into a human body are metabolized into a glucuronic acid conjugate or into a sulfuric acid conjugate of a hydroxide in urine, a detoxication metabolite generated by taking polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons: PAH, which are environmental pollution materials, are taken into the human body is hydrolyzed into hydroxy compounds by using an enzyme and then are analyzed quantitatively, and the result is used as a living body index.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
