METHOD FOR CUTTING GOTHIC ARC TYPE GROOVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method for easily and efficiently machining a Gothic arc type groove corresponding to a change, using one kind of cutting tools even if a contact angle to a rolling element changes diversely when the radius of a circular arc of the Gothic arc type groove is the same.;SOLUTION: A pair of cutting tools 11a, 11b are used to separately machine the left cross section and right cross section of the Gothic arc type groove 1. The respective cutting tools 11a, 11b have cutting edge parts 14a, 14b of circular arc shape for machining the circular arc of the Gothic arc type groove 1. The respective cutting tools 11a, 11b are mounted to a tool holder of a machining device. In this case, the Gothic arc type groove 1 is machined by adjusting a distance between the cutting tools 11a, 11b and the tool holder by an adjusting shim so that the center positions of the radii Ra, Rb of the cutting edge parts 14a, 14b of circular arc shape in the cutting tools 11a, 11b on one side and the other side are shifted by the amount of displacement ε' corresponding to the center offset amount to a centerline S of the Gothic arc type groove 1 to be machined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
